The one item that always saves us when we have no idea “what to wear” is denim. It can easily increase our look from an average five to a high ten, no matter if it’s dark washed, ripped, plain or embroidered. I love denim, I mean is there anyone who doesn’t?!
I see no end to these beautiful blue hues…here, now and into the future!
I know the denim on denim trend isn’t always considered acceptable or fashionable by the majority… Some people hate it and others love it. I absolutely adore it, and I am excited to share with you some of the many ways I have styled denim. These example looks are everyday wearable, and a great inspiration for all seasons because – let’s be honest – denim is eternal and can be worn any time, any day.
If you want to fully express your love for denim, I recommend wearing overalls. I first fell in love with denim dungarees when I was very young. I still remember the one pair I owned. I literally wanted to wear them everyday. I have proof of it because they feature in almost all of my childhood photos…hahaha! I guess not much has changed because I still love wearing overalls, they’re so COOL!
Cold or hot, you can easily adjust to the weather with a tank top or a sweater underneath. Dungarees are always so comfortable and it’s nice to have pockets when I don’t want to carry a bag. I stuff everything in there!
If you’re a dungaree kind of girl, how do you like to style them?
Denim on denim is the ultimate solution. You may be wondering for what?
Well, we all have those days when we have no idea what to wear. That’s when I reach for denim bottoms and a denim top. For example, a denim pencil skirt with a cute denim shirt up top or ripped jeans with my favorite denim jacket. An over-sized jacket and tight jeans are my go-to pieces, as they compliment each other perfectly.
While shopping, it’s so easy to lock eyes with that ruffled denim dress or that floral embroidery denim jacket. This has happened to me multiple times! Who can relate? Often when I go shopping with something in mind, I see denim and quickly forget what I was originally looking for. Denim has that kind of effect on me.
It will never go out of style. It’s always a safe bet to invest in a denim piece which you will wear for years to come. For example, I’ve had this “Salvaje” denim jacket for ten years now and it still looks brand new. Don’t be surprised if you see more denim inspired style looks on the blog in the near future!
How do you feel about the denim on denim trend…yay or nay? And what’s your favorite denim item that you like to wear again and again?
